Long weekends and holidays are for sewing

I love long weekends because I can spread out my sewing things from one end of the house to the other.  I have my sewing cabinet backed up to the large dining room table to do the quilting on quilt for little S. Just a simple grid pattern done with the walking foot.  I also managed to get the binding sewn on too.  I want to have it finished for her birthday in a week's time.
Anyone else busy with quilting/sewing projects this weekend?

Finished Jelly Roll Quilt Top

Yesterday in the heat I finished my jelly roll quilt top started at the Sewjourn retreat in December. I will have to ponder how to quilt it now, whether an overall or custom design. I have the backing fabric and batting so it is ready to go on with. The quilt pattern features "churn dash" blocks and Moda fabric from the "Nest" range.

Hello all,
happy new year!

I had a brainwave last night which was to find the small quilting stand that I'd thrown in the shed a couple of years ago in a fit of annoyance, (thinking it was the biggest load of rubbish that had followed me home from the op shop) and lo and behold, after fitting this quilt, I actually love using it now!
It's fabulous!

First Etsy Purchase

I received some money for Christmas so put it to good use on my first Etsy purchase - two lovely handprinted linen tea towels. They are from Susie of "Flower Press" and were very quick to arrive, 100% satisfied. Anyone know how to put in those links to other sites in a blog? I will investigate further when more time is available!

Crafty Christmas

My crafty auntie, who was 80 this year, made covered coat hangers for "her girls" (daughter and two nieces) as we were all together in New England NSW for Christmas. I can't remember the name of the pattern ... something like 'hens and chickens' so will have to ask her again.
