Some more creative work

Here are some more photos from our weekend. This time I successfully uploaded photos, using the same steps as before ... must have been my crossed fingers that helped!

At the top is Karyn's amazing kaleidoscope quilt top for her niece, which she prepared the backing and binding for. Next is Jennie's gorgeous doona cover which she designed around a lovely embroidered panel she was given. Then there is Leita's wonderful pinwheels top which she added the borders to. Last is the couch holding a section of Karyn's strips for her next project - a somewhat tricky Kaffe Fassett pattern - and Leita's friendship quilt before she added the binding.

Many blocks and a binding

Here's a few pictures of some of our hard work from our weekend away at Lancefield.  There were many blocks sewn and quilts worked on, and even a skirt!  Top photo is a quilt I am making for my sister and brother-in-law for their first wedding anniversary (because it wasn't finished in time for their wedding!)  Next is Louise's lovely baby quilt, followed by Anne's quilt using her favourite 'nest' fabrics and finally the most anticipated of all - Leita's binding on her Japanese friendship swap quilt!
Please add some more photos as I didn't get pictures of everyone's work.  Will send some group shots via email.

Indigo Circles Quilt

Finished this last night!  The dragonflies are a bit hard to see in the photo but I am very pleased with them.
And who let me buy that pattern on Friday?  Now I have another project just when I swore I wouldn't start anything new!!!

Actually, I already had the fabric and was just waiting to find the right pattern.  Very Christmassy I think.

Happy Visit

Today four of our group visited one of our more distant members and had a lovely morning. Unfortunately we all forgot our cameras so we can't share with you any pics of her latest vintage sewing machines and accessories or hand made shoes but we were impressed as always. Also with Nikki the car who is not much bigger than a sewing machine him/her self!

Now that I've finally worked out how to get onto this site girls, words have deserted me!

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3...

I finished this stitchery recently and thought I would upload a picture of it just to see if I could.
Have invited the others to join us as authors of this blog!

First post

Thanks Michelle, for setting up our group's blog! Yesterday I finished cutting out 1066 one and a half inch squares for my son's Kaffe Fassett snowballs quilt ... just have the border triangles to cut now and being in a stripe fabric they are tricky. I think I am avoiding a difficult task as I have been out early and filled the green bin with trimmings and weeds. The garden looks neater now but it's very dry, especially in the front (western) part. I tried to add a photo but an "internal error" prevented it, so better luck next time. Anne.
